Expression: $$x + 2 ( 3 x - 1 ) = 0$$
Use the distributive property to multiply $2$ by $3x-1$.
$$x+6x-2=0$$
Combine $x$ and $6x$ to get $7x$.
$$7x-2=0$$
Add $2$ to both sides. Anything plus zero gives itself.
$$7x=2$$
Divide both sides by $7$.
$$x=\frac{2}{7}$$
